Lower Power Draw, Higher Performance

Following the announcement of the rebranded other RTX 4080 were some details on the mobile versions of NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace GPUs.  There will be a mobile version of the RTX 4070, 4060 and 4050 appearing in laptops sometime around February 22nd.  In the presentation it was suggested that you can expect 80fps at,1440p while gaming and a Blender run which once took up to two and a half hours will be done in 10 minutes.  A price of $1000 was also mentioned for a laptop with the RTX 4050, unfortunately they didn’t specify if the performance given only applies to the mobile RTX 4070.

There will also be a mobile RTX 4080 and 4090 appearing February 8th which can handle up to three 4K monitors at 60fps.  If you are hoping to pick up a laptop with one of those cards is likely to run you at least $2000.   All the mobile versions are designed to be far less power hungry than previous generations.  That is not just to improve battery life, but also to reduce the amount of heat produced.  This would mean even a 14″ laptop could be used as a workstation, if you so desired.
